Biometric Registration and New Fraud Control Rules

SASSA started using a new system on September 1 2025. All new people who want grants must now scan their fingerprints or face. This helps SASSA check who people are & stops cheating. It makes sure no one gets paid twice. The system also makes it easier to keep track of payments. Many SASSA offices are using this system now & thousands of people have already signed up. The new rules help SASSA run things better & keep grant money safe. This makes the whole process more secure for everyone involved.

Key Steps Beneficiaries Must Follow

You need to check if your personal details and bank info are correct before payment dates. If you want to get your money sent to a different bank or change how you get paid you must tell SASSA by the 19th of each month. This will make sure the changes work for your next payment. If you don’t get your money on the expected date just wait a few days. Banks sometimes need extra time to process payments. After waiting you can call SASSA for free at 0800 60 10 11 or go to a SASSA office near you.
