New SASSA Social Grant Rates effective October 2025 – How Individuals Confirm their New Amount

SASSA will give more money to people who get social grants starting in October 2025. The Finance Minister told everyone about this plan during his budget speech earlier this year. The first increase happened in April and now there’s another small raise coming in October. The changes are pretty simple.

Every grant will go up by R10. Old people will now get R2,320 instead of R2,310. If you’re 75 or older you’ll get R2340 instead of R2,330. War veterans will also get R2,340 up from R2,330. People with disabilities & those who need care support will get R2320 instead of R2,310. This is good news for everyone who depends on these grants. Even though it’s a small increase it will help people deal with rising costs. SASSA wants to make sure everyone knows about these new amounts before October starts.

SASSA boss Themba Matlou was happy about the increase. He said it shows that the government wants to help people who need support. “We are making sure that poor people get the money they need to deal with tough times” Matlou explained. He thinks this change will make life easier for many families who get grants.
