A 54-year-old woman from KwaZulu-Natal was caught for her part in stealing money from Sassa. She paid R10 000 to get out on bail.

She worked with other criminals who were caught last year in Ixopo. When police found them they had 47 Sassa cards and R73 000 in cash.
The group stole more than R7.2 million from Sassa.
Police caught two people last year & then arrested the woman on Wednesday. She went to court in Durban and paid bail to go home.

Themba Matlou who runs Sassa in KZN said they take fraud very seriously. He was happy more people are getting caught for stealing grant money.
He thanked the police for their work and asked people to report fraud. Anyone who knows about grant theft can call the police or phone 0800 701 701.
