Nigeria took control early in the game when Osimhen scored the first goal. This hit Benin hard & they struggled to get back into the match. Later in the first half Osimhen jumped high to meet Chukwueze’s perfect cross and headed the ball into the net. This made it 2-0 to Nigeria before halftime.
Osimhen scored his third goal early in the second half. He headed in a free kick from Moses Simon. This goal ended any hopes Benin had of making a comeback. The Galatasaray forward showed his skill throughout the match. His three goals helped his team win easily.
Frank Onyeka scored with a volley near the end of the game. This goal made things worse for Benin as they dropped from first place to third place in the group. South Africa moved up to first place & earned their spot in the tournament.
