FIFA announced that people have bought over 1 million tickets for the 2024 World Cup. Most buyers are from the USA Canada & Mexico where the games will happen.

People from 212 countries bought tickets even though only 28 teams have qualified so far. The other top ticket-buying countries are England, Germany, Brazil, Spain, Colombia Argentina & France. The World Cup will start on June 11 and end on July 19.
FIFA boss Gianni Infantino is happy that so many fans want to watch the games in North America. He thinks this World Cup will be special because it’s the first one hosted by three countries. The text is now easier to read. It uses basic words and shorter sentences. It keeps all the important facts but presents them in a more straightforward way.
FIFA says fans are really excited about the World Cup. The ticket sales show that this big tournament is getting attention from people all over the world.
The FIFA ticket resale website is now open. Fans can buy tickets for the final match in New Jersey. The prices for these tickets start at $9,538 and go up to $57500 for each seat.
FIFA has not told us how many tickets were sold for each game. They also haven’t shared information about ticket sales in different cities. Unlike past World Cups, FIFA has not published a list of standard ticket prices this time.
FIFA made its statement after Trump said he might move World Cup games away from Boston & other places his team thinks are not safe enough.
People can now buy tickets but they still have concerns about the event. Many fans worry about getting visas to enter the US because of strict immigration rules. These rules are already causing problems. A recent soccer game between Argentina and Puerto Rico had to move from Chicago to Florida because not enough people bought tickets. Some think this happened because fans were worried about the tough immigration policies.
FIFA picked ticket winners from 4.5 million people who entered last month’s lottery. Fans can try again on October 27 when FIFA opens the next round of sales. This time they can buy tickets for single games or follow specific teams at certain stadiums. The tournament will have 104 matches at 16 locations across North America. The stadiums can hold about 7.1 million people in total. FIFA hasn’t said how many tickets will be available for regular fans to buy.
The cheapest tickets for the games cost $60 & fans could get these for about 40 different matches. Most of the other seats were much more expensive. When tickets first went on sale the USA’s first game in Inglewood had prices from $560 to $2,735. People are now reselling tickets for this June 12 game and one seller asked for $61642 for a single ticket on Thursday. This shows how ticket prices have gone up a lot since the first sale.
Soccer fans can buy tickets in four different seat levels. The best seats are in Category 1 while Category 4 seats are up high in the stadium. The prices will change over time because FIFA is using a new system that adjusts costs based on demand.
People who win the second ticket lottery can buy their seats from November to December. After December 5 when teams learn their match schedule there will be one more lottery for tickets. FIFA will also sell any leftover tickets before the World Cup starts. These will go to whoever buys them first.
Luka Doncic joins World Cup team in LA Basketball star Luka Doncic will help promote the 2026 World Cup games in Los Angeles. The Dallas Mavericks player who supports Real Madrid was picked on Thursday to welcome soccer teams & fans to Southern California. Since Doncic can speak four different languages he is a good fit for this role.
He grew up in Slovenia but has always loved soccer. “I really love soccer” Doncic said. “LA has great people who enjoy all kinds of sports. I’m excited about the World Cup and happy to help bring everyone together through this global sport.” Note: I fixed the error in the original text which incorrectly stated Doncic plays for the Lakers – he plays for the Dallas Mavericks.
