In a groundbreaking collaboration, North Coast Radio partnered with other esteemed radio stations—High Way Radio, Ikhwezi Radio, Inanda Radio, and Umgungundlovu Radio—to present a compelling dialogue. Professor JJ Tabane, the esteemed host, engaged in a deep conversation with Floyd Shivambu, the Deputy President of the EFF (Economic Freedom Fighters).
The discussion delved deeply into the upcoming elections, with Floyd Shivambu expressing unwavering confidence in the EFF’s ability to secure victory and usher in a new era, effectively displacing the ANC from government. Despite recent polls indicating a 15% rating, as per the Ipsos survey in June of the previous year, Shivambu emphasized the remarkable growth of the EFF as a formidable opposition party in South Africa.
At the heart of their election strategy lies the innovative “voting district elections task forces.” This approach involves deploying 20 volunteers to each voting district across the country, aiming to secure a decisive 51% victory in the upcoming election. Notably, the EFF remains resolute in its decision to operate independently, as other political parties have categorically ruled out collaboration with them.
Shivambu attributed this isolation to his belief that other parties are influenced by handlers with vested interests in the country’s economy. According to him, these financial backers manipulate other political entities to sideline the EFF, reinforcing their commitment to stand alone.
The EFF plans to unveil its party manifesto at Moses Mabhida Stadium on February 10, 2024, expressing utmost confidence that the venue will be filled solely by the enthusiastic support of their KZN branches. The interview, hosted by JJ Tabane, provides valuable insights into the EFF’s perspective as they gear up for the elections.
