Sassa’s office in Johannesburg will close down for a while starting Monday September 15, 2025.

This happened because some workers were caught doing illegal things.
Eight staff members were arrested for fraud & had to go to court in Lenasia.
The boss of Sassa, Themba Matlou said they don’t accept any bad behavior from their workers. He made it clear that everyone who breaks the rules will face punishment.
The office will stay closed until they fix all the problems. They haven’t said when it will open again. This change will affect many people who use Sassa’s services in Johannesburg.

“We need to hold everyone responsible for what they did. The office had to close for now, which is bad. But we are working on ways to help our customers” Matlou said.
