The City of uMhlathuze has allocated R1 million towards equipping small businesses owned by youth entrepreneurs, announced Honourable Mayor Cllr Xolani Ngwezi. This initiative aims to support and empower young entrepreneurs in the city by providing them with the necessary equipment to enhance their business operations.
Today, at Ngwelezane Hall in Empangeni, young businessmen and women received their equipment as promised under this program.
Addressing the gathering, Mayor Cllr Xolani Ngwezi highlighted the significance of bolstering South Africa’s economy through youth-driven entrepreneurship. He stated, “I believe in the energy and drive of our youth,” underscoring his faith in the potential of young entrepreneurs to contribute meaningfully to economic growth. This initiative marks the second time the Municipality has organized such an event, reflecting its commitment to nurturing local talent and enterprise.
Mayor Ngwezi also urged the recipients to maximize the use of the equipment provided, emphasizing, “I encourage you not to sell these tools but to leverage them for the benefit of your businesses and the community.”
