On Saturday 22 March 2025 Tronox proudly sponsored the annual UMhlathuze Crocs Marathon, a vibrant event promoting health, wellness, and community engagement. The marathon, saw enthusiastic participation from Tronox employees and members of the broader community, solidifying Tronox’s commitment to social responsibility and employee well-being.
The event offered a variety of races to suit all fitness levels, including a challenging 42km marathon, a 21km half-marathon, and a 10km race. For those seeking a more leisurely experience, a 5km fun walk/run was also available, attracting participants of all ages and abilities.
The marathon was a resounding success, with a large turnout of runners and walkers eager to participate in the day’s festivities. Demonstrating their commitment to an active and healthy lifestyle, Tronox executives joined in the 5km fun run, encouraging employees and community members alike.
Mr Shalen, the site director at Fairbreeze Mine participated in the 5km race with his family and appreciated the weather and the big turnout.
Participants included not only residents of Richards Bay but also individuals from surrounding areas, demonstrating the event’s broad appeal.
