Ebenezer Family Church in Richard’s Bay held its annual Church Workers’ Workshop on the 27th of January 2024, last Saturday. This event serves as a platform to equip and motivate church workers to excel in their roles within the house of the Lord. Representatives from all ministries, including ushers, worship teams, and communications, etc. attended the workshop in large numbers, demonstrating their dedication to the church’s mission.

The workshop focuses on strategic planning to align the satellite church with the Church’s overall vision of becoming a relevant, a caring, a vibrant and agents of change in the community. To achieve relevance within the community, the church emphasized the importance of being closely connected to the needs of the people. It was recognized that to make a positive impact, the church must actively engage with the community.

One significant outcome was the identification of a need for skills development training for women in the society. A committee was formed to visit the neighboring community of EMandlanzini, liaising with community structures to understand the specific needs of the women. The church aims to provide training programs tailored to address these needs.

Another outreach initiative involved offering assistance to high school students in their math and science studies. The church plans to identify schools and provide additional classes to students in need, contributing to their academic success. Additionally, a back-to-school campaign was proposed, wherein the church will purchase school shoes for children lacking proper footwear.

The workshop delved into various aspects, including ensuring the seamless and timely execution of Sunday services. The organizing committee played a crucial role in orchestrating the well-organized event, ensuring its success. A follow-up and progress meeting have been scheduled to monitor the implementation of action plans and identify areas for improvement.

Each ministry had the opportunity to reflect on its performance in the previous year and devise strategies for progress in 2024. The workshop concluded on a high note, with every worker motivated and prepared to deliver excellent service in the house of the Lord. The success of the day was attributed to the dedication of the workers and the effective planning by the organizing committee.

With every opinion taken into consideration, Ebenezer Family Church truly stayed true to its motto: “Ebenezer Family Church, a place where everyone is important.”
