Today marked the official inauguration of the temporary police center at Boardwalk Nkwazi Mall, as declared by Chief of Police, Major General Sipho Ngubane of King Cetshwayo District in KwaZulu Natal. This initiative, aimed at enhancing community proximity and crime control, was formally set in motion today following the General’s endorsement to establish the center within the mall premises.
This newly operational center is geared towards facilitating essential services for the community. Among its offerings include the provision of affidavits, certifications, and a strengthened law enforcement presence, particularly targeting high-crime areas. Major General Ngubane emphasized the importance of responsible alcohol consumption, highlighting its correlation with preventable accidents and urging holidaymakers to exercise caution.
Additionally, Major General Sipho Ngubane issued a stern warning to individuals in possession of unauthorized firearms. He urged them to surrender these weapons to the police without hesitation. For those unsure of the process, he encouraged direct contact with the designated station officer to facilitate a safe and voluntary handover before the stipulated deadline. Notably, he extended this directive to include firearms registered under deceased family members’ names, urging compliance with legal procedures for rightful ownership.
In an emphatic statement during the Boardwalk station’s opening, Major General Ngubane unequivocally cautioned criminals within the King Cetshwayo District. He stressed the arrival of Ndosi’s vigilant forces, dedicated to a comprehensive crackdown on crime, leaving no room for criminal activity to thrive.
