The City of Mhlathuze marked a significant milestone as it hosted the Academic Excellence Awards ceremony at the prestigious Mhlathuze Civic Hall. The Honorable Speaker of the King Cetshwayo District Municipality graced the occasion as the keynote speaker. During her address, she offered words of encouragement to the learners, emphasizing the importance of making wise choices as they embark on their new academic journey. Acknowledging the challenges of newfound freedom and peer pressure, she urged students to choose the path that aligns with their goals and values.
The City of uMhlathuze presented awards to the top 20 high-performing learners and the top 15 high-performing schools. Notably, a generous reward of R10,000 was granted to each of the high-achieving learners, showcasing the municipality’s commitment to fostering academic excellence.
In a commendable move, R6,000 was awarded to students benefiting from the Mhlathuze Mayoral Grants for registration. This financial support underscores the City’s dedication to ensuring that deserving students have access to educational opportunities beyond their current academic achievements.
