The Princess Magogo Choral Festival, hosted by the King Cetshwayo District Municipality, was a vibrant celebration honoring the late Mntwana ka Phindangene and commemorating the musical prowess of Princess Magogo, his mother. Notably, Mayor Cllr A.T Ntuli composed a song dedicated to the memory of Mntwana ka Phindangene, performed by a Mass Choir at this prestigious event.
The festival, the inaugural of its kind, showcased multiple choral choirs gathering at the Imbizo Hall in Empangeni, supported by the King Cetshwayo District Municipality. Among the highlights, certificates were awarded to the choirs participating in this historic Princess Magogo Choral Festival.
In an exclusive interview, Mayor Ntuli articulated his vision for the festival. He emphasized the need to rekindle and sustain the culture of Choral Music, not only as a tribute to artistic genius but also as a means to boost tourism and stimulate local economic development. Expressing concern about the limited presence of Choral Music beyond educational institutions, the mayor stressed the rarity of encountering it outside primary and high schools.

This envisioned space aims to nurture the talents of youth passionate about art and music, providing them with a platform to express their creativity.
