Following the suspension of the initial contractor on the Package Plant project, a new phase began under the management of WEC, the appointed contractor. Today marked a pivotal moment as the esteemed Mayor of Mhlathuze, Mr. Xolani Ngwezi, alongside Mhlathuze counselors and members, convened to oversee and assess the strides made in the Package Plants Project at Gobandlovu.
The responsibility of the WEC contractor encompasses the comprehensive process design, electrical and mechanical aspects, and the supply of the 15 Mega litre Package Plant. In an address to the media, the Honourable Mayor disclosed encouraging developments in the project’s various phases. He confirmed the completion of the manufacturing and design segment, marking a significant milestone.
The focal point of attention shifted to the ongoing civil works, which have reached an impressive 98% completion rate. With a mere 2% remaining, this critical phase is swiftly progressing toward its conclusion. The Mayor expressed optimism and commended the dedicated efforts of all involved parties in ensuring the project’s advancement.
