On Friday, August 11th, the Welkom police arrested a foreigner after the community captured him in connection with house burglaries. According to the Lejweleputswa police spokesperson, Captain Stephen Thakeng, they were on vehicle patrol when residents stopped them in Constansia Road, Welkom. “Residents had apparently caught a suspect involved in house burglaries committed between July and August,” added Thakeng. Furthermore, the suspect did not have legal documents to be in the country. As a result, the police arrested him for illegal immigration.
